Companies around the globe have adopted the option of working from home in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. It is a choice that has both pros and cons. For writers and artists, the biggest disadvantage is meeting deadlines. Procrastination is a common habit for those who have time to spare and the ability to set their own pace. It is also difficult to concentrate at home due to the many distractions. This unique cafe in Tokyo will be perfect for you if you procrastinate writing until the last minute. The Manuscript Writing Cafe is a unique eatery that does not allow writers to leave until they have met their deadlines.

According to the official website, only writers with tight deadlines are welcome at the Manuscript writing cafe. You must write down on a piece of paper, as soon as you enter the restaurant, what your daily goal is and when you expect to complete it. The manager will ask you to update him on your progress each hour. You can select between three types of progress checks: normal, mild, and hard. It is important to create a distraction-free space that encourages creativity and facilitates lucid and quick writing.

The café has a total of ten seats: four counter chairs, four window seats, and one tabletop. Each center has a power outlet and USB charger. Smokers can also use the outdoor seating. The cafe charges USD 1.50 for the first thirty minutes and USD 2.34 per hour after that. The free drinks counter offers drinks like drip coffee, Japanese tea, black tea, and other teas.

Takuya Kaawai is the 52-year-old owner of Manuscript Writing Cafe. He is also a writer. Kawai told Reuters that the restaurant had gone viral on social media, and people were saying it was scary. They also said they felt like someone was watching them from behind. “But in reality, instead of watching, I am here to support them…. Tasks that normally take three hours have been completed in just one hour or in less than three hours.”
